Diana Lou Bushnell- Chevis

On September 15, 2021, the gates of heaven swung open and awaiting with his wings spread wide was the love her of life, welcoming her to take her rest, her beloved late husband Anderson “Andy” Chevis. Wrapped in the wings of the love of her life, our beautiful Diana was reunited with her father, the late Floyd Bushnell Sr, her sister the late Gloria Ann Zachary and her brother the late Carlton Paul Bushnell, of whom all precedes her in death. Diana entered the kingdom of heaven at the young at heart age of 64.
Diana entered our hearts and was born to Edmonia and the late Floyd Bushnell Sr. on September 21, 1956.
Throughout Diana young life she worked for the Hardin Jefferson Independent School District for over 18 years doing what she loved, cooking and being around her friends and the students who loved her just as much.
Diana met her best friend, her soul mate, the late Anderson “Andy” Anderson in the early 80s and together with God first, they shared over 30+ years of life. During this time, Diana and Andy shared a beautiful family together, where they always kept God first and lived by faith. Diana lost the love of her life unexpectedly on July 20th, 2018. From that moment her life was forever change and her heart was forever broken. Today we rejoice in knowing that she is reunited with her love and they are dancing to the beats of one another’s heart.
Diana accepted Christ at a young age, and was baptized in Oberlin, La. Her love for God was very evident for she would share it with you during the many conversations she would have. Diana had a free -spirited personality, one that could love you to the core, give you the shirt off her back if needed, but she will surely put you in your place as fast as she will tell you she loved you. She loved her family with all her heart. Her kids were her life’s biggest accomplishment. She loved them more than herself and was proud of them in every way. She loved spending time with her daughter and would be so happy when her son would surprise her when he came home to spend time with her. They were the love her life and would take away any pain she had. Diana becoming a grandmother was a blessing and she called them her blessings. Her grandkids loved their “momo” but she definitely loved them more. She would give them the world if it was the last thing to give to them. Her love for her entire family is unexplainable. Diana enjoyed spending the holidays with them, cooking for them and teaching them how to cook, she enjoyed her favorite trips to the casino and her daily rides to bingo. Diana left us all with memories that will forever be embedded in our hearts and soul. We find comfort in knowing she is now pain free, no more discomfort, and reunited with her love. Diana’s heart never healed from losing him, but her heart is now unbroken as they both dance in the arms of one another.

A cherished beloved son Jeffery L. Marshall of Wichita, Kansas (Nacole); her cherished beloved daughter Stacy S. Brush of Beaumont, Texas (Anthony) Two blessed bonus sons, Frederick Chevis of Ville Platte, Louisiana (Danielle) and Brad Chevis of Opelousas, Louisiana (Angie)
Her blessed bundle of joys, her grandkids: Akyela Bell, Nevaeh Houston, Lamia Houston, Jerrel Marshall, Javien Marshall and A’Myree Brush, better known to her Momo as her “Sally Sue”, Asia Morales, Chyna Askew, Kayne Hafford; great grandkids; Azaylah Guliford, Zahkari Guliford and Ja’liyah Surgeon; Diana also shared the blessed love with her late husband eleven bonus grandkids and one bonus great grand-daughter.
Diana leaves to cherish and celebrate her life, her adoring devoted mother, whom Diana shared her heart filled lasting moments with and loved with all her heart Edmonia S. Bushnell of China, Texas.
Diana had two loving and protecting brothers, Jimmy Bushnell of Beaumont, Texas (JoAnn), Floyd Bushnell Jr of China, Texas.
Diana shared her life with two sisters who loved her and cherished every minute with her; Rose Anderson of Nome, Texas (William), Shirley Bushnell of Spring Texas.
Diana leaves to cherish her life a host of nieces and nephews of whom she adored and loved and treated as her own.
Service are Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church Hwy 90 China, TX. Visitation will begin at 8AM until Funeral at 10AM. Interment: Haven of Rest Cemetery Beaumont, TX.
