Jessica Pegula is into the fourth round and was speaking about her main focus against Svitolina: “I know no matter what, she wasn’t going to go away. I feellike every time I play her it’s so close, just a couple of breaks here andthere. She’s been playing amazing and I know she was going to be really tough.
“I think we both started a little nervously, both a littleoff. Honestly I don’t think either of us were really playing that great. She definitelypicked up her level and forced me to come out strong in the third.”
On playing Madison Keys next: “When we saw the draw, we’ve been in the same section every singletournament for the last few tournaments and we’re like 'the world just wants usto play.' So I’m glad we get to put on a show for you guys.
“She’s an amazing player, super powerful and she’s beenplaying really well and she’s pretty confident. So it’s going to be prettytough.”

'Surprised why Boulter is not earlier on schedule'

I am surprised looking at the schedule why Jessica Pegula andCoco Gauff are third on Grandstand. There is no reason why Katie Boulter shouldnot be before.
The only thing I would say is that potentially Coco isplaying the day session tomorrow and she wouldn’t be able to play first if shewas last on today.
It’s such a balancing act.
Pegula sets up all-American fourth-round tie
Svitolina 4-6 6-4 2-6 Pegula
Jessica Pegula soaks up the atmosphere on Arthur Ashe.
Her win over Elina Svitolina sets up an all-American fourth round encounter with 17th seed Madison Keys, who defeated Liudmila Samsonova earlier today.
Game, set and match - Pegula
Svitolina 4-6 6-4 2-6 Pegula
Elina Svitolina doesn't intend to go down without a fight, however, and pulls herself level at 30-30.
But Jessica Pegula's serve has been strong all night and she sets up match point with an ace.
Svitolina pushes the next point long and the crowd rises to their feet as Pegula reaches the fourth round.
Salisbury and Ram go to second-set tie-break
*McLachlan/Nishioka 3-6 6-6 Ram/Salisbury
Britain's Joe Salisbury and his American partner Rajeev Ram had three break points in the opening game of this set, they went begging and neither pair have really come close to a break since.
We're heading to a tie-break.
Pegula breaks to serve for match
Svitolina 4-6 6-4 2-5 Pegula*
But Jessica Pegula has another break point and this time she gets it, whacking a forehand cross-court as she races towards the net.
Surely that has to be it for the American. She will serve for the match and a place in the fourth round.
Svitolina saves break point

Advantage and break point Jessica Pegula.
But Elina Svitolina comes out all guns blazing and smashes a forehand past the American to bring us back to deuce.

Just a reminder that Jessica Pegula is due to be playing doubles right now with partner Coco Gauff.

Advantage Jessica Pegula as Elina Svitolina throws her head back after hitting the net.
That forehand that has been working so well for the Ukrainian lets her down and allows Pegula to hold.

Svitolina 4-6 6-4 2-3 Pegula
Now then, what does Elina Svitolina have in her locker?
A very good forehand it turns out. It warrants a clap from her opponent as the pair go level at 15-15.
An ace helps Jessica Pegula to 40-15, but Svitolina is right back at her and forces deuce with another forehand winner.

A cross-court forehand strike seals the break. Could this be the decisive moment?
Pegula holds
*Svitolina 4-6 6-4 2-2 Pegula
A thrilling rally goes the way of Jessica Pegula to kick off her service game.
The American follows it up with a double fault before Elina Svitolina strikes a stunning forehand to the back of the court.
Pegula regains her composure to win the next three points and get the hold. Another shout of frustration from Svitolina.
